Meet The Team: Rob Sheldon

For March, it’s Rob Sheldon’s turn in our Meet The Team feature! We caught up with him to find out what he gets up to as our Offline Account Manager…

What made you want to get into the travel industry?

It wasn’t planned and I had no previous experience before joining but six years later, I’m still here living the dream.

When did you join Business?

I joined in 2012 and then I moved to the Business team in May 2014

On a day to day basis, what does your job involve?

Everything, each day is different… Running reports for clients, ensuring everything is running smoothly for the clients, speaking with clients on a daily basis, Booking Checks, VAT chasing, optioning hotels for client requests, making bookings, negotiating rates for long stays and believe it or not…sending faxes!

What do you love most about your job?

Speaking to the different accounts and getting an insight on what they do and obviously, the people I work with.

What previous experience do you have that got you here today?

I worked in the call centre for two years then moved to Corporate as a Reservation Consultant which I did for another 2 years. I then left for 9 months and worked for Carlson Rezidor as a Global Sales Coordinator in the Meeting & Events Department.

Where is the best place you’ve ever travelled to?

It’s got to be Etihad Stadium.

And where’s on the bucket-list?

Anywhere that serves a decent pint, nice food and has a bit of sunshine.

What is the best advice you would give to someone wanting to join the travel industry?

Just go for it, give it 100% and enjoy yourself along the way.
